Sorrento, Italy

We took the ferry from Capri to Sorrento.  Since we were there, we thought we would look around for a while.  Here is a view of Sorrento as we approached on the ferry.  This is another one of those towns built into the side of a hill, like many on the Italian coast.

Man I swear, gelato alone 'pert near justifies a trip to Italy.  It is somehow slightly creamier but lighter bodied than our ice cream.  Plus, the flavors, forget about it.  This gelateria had about 60 flavors.  What you see in this picture is just the end of the display.  It extended down the store for a while.  I think my favorite of this trip was watermelon, of which you can see an example here.

Not favorable coastline for people to lay out in the sun?  Just build it.  There were a number of these T docks with chairs for rent in Sorrento.
