We arranged to stay with a high-school friend of mine and his wife in Madison, WI.  We had a bit of a drive from MI, through the top of Indiana, through Chicago, and then up to Madison, but we made it on time to go to the Madison Mallard's baseball game.  It was a beautiful night and we had a great time.  Here's a panoramic shot of the field.  Still want more?  Here's a short video. 1.2 MB

Spent grain loaded onto a trailer at the New Glarus brewery.

The next day we drove a short 20 miles down to New Glarus, WI, home of the successful and admirable New Glarus Brewery.  Jamie is no beer or brewery fan, but the success story of husband Dan (brewer) and wife Deb Carey (business director) and their small-town WI brewery even impressed her.  More pics on the beer pages.

The state capitol building.

Downtown Madison is on a fairly narrow strip of land between two good-sized lakes.  See both lakes and the view in this short video  1.25 MB

State Street.

This is for the skaters of the group.  This shot is to show you the corner of the garage where this ramp is.  It was at some friends of Scott and Steph's.

Here is a closer shot of the pipe.  They built this because they can go any number of places and ride normal ramps, but there is nothing like this in the area.  Apparently they put the wood on the ceiling above the ramp because boards started going through the sheet rock.  They can hit their backs on the ceiling when they really get pumping.
